District Governor Elect Daniel Damulira has set a bold and transformative direction for Rotary District 9214 (Uganda & Tanzania) as he prepares to lead in the Rotary Year 2026–2027. Speaking with humility, clarity, and passion, DGE Daniel unveiled his theme for the year: “Each One Engage for Impact.”
This theme is not merely a slogan—it is an invitation to every Rotarian to take personal responsibility in shaping vibrant, visible, and visionary clubs.
DGE Daniel emphasized that meaningful impact begins with individual engagement, reflected in his belief that Rotary excellence is achieved when every member plays an active role. His call is simple: “Each one must do something.” Whether bringing in one new member, hosting a home hospitality, contributing to The Rotary Foundation, or leading a small project, Daniel stresses that Rotary thrives when no one is idle.
His vision is grounded in five major pillars:

1. Strengthen Membership Through AERA
Daniel is committed to sustaining the district’s strong membership growth by reinforcing the AERA model—Attraction, Engagement, Retention, and Activation.
He calls on clubs to assign clear responsibilities to members, empower engagement champions, and ensure no person becomes a passive Rotarian. His approach recognizes that retention begins with belonging.

2. District-wide Impact Days
In line with his belief in dramatic, memorable service, DGE Daniel proposes major district-wide impact days, all coordinated across corridors. These include:
1st July Blood Donation Drive (2,000 units in Uganda and 2,000 in Tanzania)
24th October – World Polio Day Immunization Campaign
Go Green Day – Tree Planting & Environmental Action
Mega Health Camps
Christmas Gift Drive for Vulnerable Communities
He aims to make Rotary visible, present, and impactful in every community.
3. Digital Transformation
DGE Daniel desires a fully digital district—clubs adopting QR codes for attendance, improved reporting to RI, data-driven project selection, and using digital systems for transparency and efficiency. Modern clubs, he says, are relevant clubs.
4. Elevate The Rotary Foundation Giving
He calls for 100% TRF participation, urging every club and every Rotarian to contribute something. He highlights the need to build grant-writing capacity so clubs can access global grant funding confidently. “There is money available,” he says. “We simply must learn to apply properly.”
5. Early Preparation & Leadership Discipline
Daniel urges leaders not to wait until 1st July to start working.
He cautions: “A Rotary year feels like six months. If you start late, you finish without achieving anything.”
He encourages Presidents-Elect to support current presidents, understand their members deeply, and build continuity rather than inherit broken clubs.
Drawing on wisdom from senior leaders (PAG Peace, PDG Ann, PDG Mike), DGE Daniel reminds leaders that taking a position is taking responsibility. If life challenges arise, leaders should step aside gracefully instead of disappearing silently.

A Call to Action
DGE Daniel concluded his address with a powerful charge:
“Together—Uganda and Tanzania—we will build a Rotary that is vibrant, visible, and visionary. I call each one of you into action. Each One Engage for Impact.”
With this bold, people-centered vision, Daniel Damulira positions District 9214 for a year of unity, innovation, and unstoppable service.
