Rotary International President Francesco Arezzo and Anna Maria Criscione-Arezzo arrived in Uganda at 12:55 AM through Entebbe International Airport for a landmark two-day visit focused on witnessing firsthand the life-changing impact Rotary is creating across the country.

Hosted by Rotary District 9213 and Rotary District 9214, the visit highlights Uganda’s strong contribution to Rotary’s global mission of service above self — advancing maternal and child health, peacebuilding, disease prevention, youth empowerment, and membership growth.

DAY ONE: Health, Peace & The Rotary Foundation

Day One begins today and will focus on high-impact and sustainable service initiatives.

The RI President is scheduled to visit Kawempe National Hospital to tour the Maternal & Child Health “Oxygen for Life” Project — a flagship initiative strengthening neonatal and maternal care systems and saving lives through improved oxygen access and medical support.

He will also visit the Makerere University Rotary Peace Centre, showcasing Rotary’s global investment in peacebuilding and conflict prevention through advanced education and leadership development.

Later in the day, he is expected to engage Rotary leaders from both districts during a meeting and press conference at Speke Resort Munyonyo, highlighting Uganda’s growing Rotary footprint. The evening will conclude with a Rotary Foundation Recognition Fellowship at BCF Courts, hosted by RC Kigo Seven Lakes and RC Upper Kololo, celebrating members whose generosity continues to fuel Rotary’s humanitarian work worldwide.

DAY TWO: Service in Action Across Communities

On Day Two, the RI President is expected to witness Rotary’s direct impact across communities.

Activities will begin with a blood donation drive at Nakasero Blood Bank, reinforcing Rotary’s commitment to saving lives. This will be followed by a polio immunization activity at JJanyi Health Centre, reaffirming Rotary’s promise to end polio globally.

In Kajjansi, the RI President is scheduled to visit a Mega Health Camp organized by RC Medical Stars, providing essential medical services to underserved communities. Engagement sessions with Rotaractors and RYLA participants in Lweza will highlight Rotary’s investment in youth leadership and the next generation of changemakers.

The visit will also include a tour of the JCRC Bone Marrow Transplant Unit in Lubowa, showcasing advanced healthcare partnerships transforming specialized medical treatment in Uganda.

The two-day visit will culminate in a Membership Gala Dinner at Speke Resort Munyonyo, celebrating fellowship, growth, and Rotary’s expanding reach across Districts 9213 and 9214.

This visit reflects Rotary’s four strategic priorities — increasing impact, expanding reach, enhancing participant engagement, and increasing adaptability. From maternal health and peace education to disease prevention and youth empowerment, Rotary in Uganda continues to stand as a beacon of hope and service.

Service Above Self. Rotary Eyamba. Unite for Good.
