During a recent engagement with District Governor Christine Kyeyune Kawooya, the Rotary Club of Konge–Lukuli announced a transformative partnership with Abacus Pharma Africa Limited to support the District Governor’s flagship Oxygen for Life initiative.
Under this partnership, Abacus Pharma Africa Limited will donate a containerized Oxygen PSA Plant with a capacity of 3 Nm³ per hour to Hope Clinic Lukuli. The project, valued at USD 23,800 (approximately UGX 86,275,000), is designed to significantly strengthen the clinic’s ability to respond to medical emergencies and improve overall healthcare delivery.
The Oxygen PSA Plant will provide a reliable and sustainable supply of medical-grade oxygen, a critical resource for:
Emergency and critical care cases
Maternal and child health services
Management of respiratory illnesses and other oxygen-dependent conditions
Importantly, the donation goes beyond equipment alone. It comprehensively covers transportation, installation, and required civil works, ensuring that the oxygen plant is fully operational and sustainable for long-term use at the facility.
Speaking during the engagement, Rotary leaders highlighted that access to oxygen can mean the difference between life and death, especially in community health facilities serving growing populations. The Oxygen for Life initiative seeks to close this gap by equipping strategic health centers with dependable oxygen systems that can serve communities around the clock.
This partnership exemplifies the power of collaboration between Rotary and the private sector in delivering high-impact, life-saving solutions. The Rotary Club of Konge–Lukuli’s commitment to the project underscores its dedication to Rotary’s areas of focus, particularly Disease Prevention and Treatment and Maternal and Child Health.
As the District continues to roll out the Oxygen for Life initiative, this donation to Hope Clinic Lukuli stands as a powerful testament to what can be achieved when purpose-driven organizations unite in service.
Together, One Act at a Time.
