Last Saturday, Rotarians, Rotaractors, partners, and friends of Rotary converged at Speke Resort Munyonyo for the 2025 Rotary Foundation Dinner—an evening of purpose, gratitude, and renewed commitment to Doing Good in the World.

The gathering was graced by District Governor Christine Kyeyune Kawooya and Rotary International Director-Elect Emmanuel Katongole, whose messages set a powerful tone for the next half of the year.

Renewing Our Commitment — DG Christine Kyeyune Kawooya

DG Christine expressed heartfelt appreciation for the overwhelming support shown during the evening:

"We come together for the Rotary Foundation Dinner and renew our shared commitment to Doing Good in the World. Thank you to every Rotarian, Rotaractor, partner, and friend who have honored the evening with your presence and generosity. Your support fuels our impact and strengthens our resolve to serve, one act at a time.”

She highlighted the innovation that has characterized this Rotary year. A special moment of the evening was the unveiling of the first and only copy of the “One Act at a Time Magazine,” a publication curated by the District Foundation Fundraising Committee.

Designed to chronicle the impact of The Rotary Foundation across the district, the magazine was presented to DG Christine as a tribute to her visionary leadership.

“I was humbled to receive this thoughtful and inspiring initiative. The creativity and dedication behind this publication reflect the spirit of service that continues to move our district forward.”

A Historic Milestone — RID-Elect Emmanuel Katongole

RIDE Emmanuel Katongole delivered an exciting update that electrified the room:

Today's Rotary Foundation Dinner is a powerful reminder of what generosity can achieve. We have already surpassed our annual goal, raising USD 703,198 against a target of USD 600,000.”

This achievement places District 9214 among the most impactful districts globally in Foundation giving. Encouraged by this momentum, the district has now set a bold new ambition:

🎯 New Goal: USD 1,000,000

RIDE Katongole celebrated every donor whose giving is driving tangible, life-changing impact across Uganda and Tanzania:

“Grateful to every giver whose support is transforming our communities. Let us keep the spirit of service alive and continue pushing forward.”

Celebrating Service. Inspiring Hope. Transforming Communities.

The 2025 Rotary Foundation Dinner was more than a celebration—
it was a renewal of purpose, a testament to collective generosity, and a call to even greater impact.
