With the theme "Unite for Good – One Act at a Time," District Governor Christine Kawooya Kyeyune officially launched the Rotary Year of Action in a vibrant and purpose-driven event held at Speke Resort Munyonyo. This event brought together Rotarians, Rotaractors, and partners in service from across the district to mark the beginning of a transformative year anchored on impact and innovation.
A Tribute to Legacy, A Call to Action
In her keynote address, DG Christine honored the leadership of the past 100 District Governors, whose vision and commitment have laid the foundation for Rotary’s continued growth and relevance.
“We stand on the shoulders of giants,” she noted. “It is our privilege to carry the torch forward into a new century of Rotary with renewed determination and purpose.”
Flagship Focus Areas: MCH & WASH
The 2025–2026 Rotary year will shine a spotlight on two deeply interconnected pillars:
Maternal and Child Health (MCH)
Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)
Both areas are critical to preserving the dignity and wellbeing of communities. The flagship project for the year, launched in partnership with Joint Medical Stores, will prioritize quality health access for mothers and children in underserved areas.
Technology Meets Service: Rotary Foundation Giving App
In a remarkable move to ease contributions to The Rotary Foundation, DG Christine unveiled a “One-Tap App” that enables Rotarians to donate conveniently and consistently. The app is a step forward in embracing digital tools to support Rotary’s life-changing programs.
Growth & Momentum: New Clubs and Leadership Synergy
The launch event celebrated the chartering of over eight new Rotary clubs, a sign of the growing energy and commitment across the district. DG Christine was joined by District Rotaract Representative, emphasizing strong collaboration between Rotary and Rotaract as the district moves forward in unity.
