Mbarara, 20 September 2025 — The Country Membership Team Uganda organized a capacity-building seminar for Club Presidents and Membership Chairs from Western Region clubs at CPP Rotary House, Mbarara. The training focused on practical strategies to attract, engage, and retain members.
In his opening, Country Chair Apollo applauded the Country Membership Team for spearheading the seminar and for their continuous effort in strengthening Rotary membership. He welcomed the full-house of Western Region clubs and urged leaders to take the lessons seriously, noting that:
“Membership is the key to the sustainability of Rotary in our District. When we invest in growth, we secure the future of our clubs.”
District Membership Director, Rtn. Annie Ninyesiga, commended the Country Membership and Learning Teams for their commitment. She reminded participants that:
“Membership is the lifeblood of Rotary—without it, nothing else moves.”
“We came all the way from Kampala to Mbarara for one reason: to equip leaders with practical tools to attract, engage, and retain members—club by club, community by community.”
The training was facilitated by the Country Membership Team Uganda led by HCP Rtn. David Serubiri (Country Membership Chair), together with fellow HCPs Rtn. Mercy Nalusiba (RC Kansanga), Rtn.Nakato M Nsibirwa (RC Kisugu Victoria View), and MD Lukwago Paddy (RC Nalumunye).
Learning facilitation was spearheaded by PP Elizabeth Kintu (RC Lubowa), Country Chair—Learning Facilitators, supported by PAG Simon Peter (RC Mbarara Rachers) and AG Don Douglas Mugenyi (RC Mbarara).

With an impressive turnout from all Western Region clubs, the seminar was crowned by a practical breakout session, where two groups discussed approaches to membership attraction, engagement, and retention. Each group later presented their insights and actionable take-homes for club growth.
What’s next? The Country Membership Team Uganda will continue rolling out these trainings in other regions, equipping clubs across District 9214 to grow stronger, one member at a time.
