In a landmark move to improve healthcare access in Uganda’s island communities, District Governor Rtn. Christine Kyeyune Kawooya has officially commissioned the first-ever Oxygen for Life Project at Kalangala Health Centre IV.
This life-saving initiative is a powerful collaboration between seven Rotary Clubs:
RC Tank Hill
RC Kalangala Ssese Islands
RC Kampala Victoria View (KVV)
RC Muyenga
RC Nalumunye
RC Entebbe Base
RC Kampala Munyonyo
🎯 The project is a direct response to critical healthcare needs in Kalangala District, particularly the lack of reliable oxygen supply. It represents Rotary’s unwavering commitment to service above self and tangible impact.
🏥 What the project includes:
🛏️ 4 hospital beds
🍼 Baby cots
⚙️ 3 solar-powered oxygen generators
🔋 4 solar panels for energy independence
🖥️ Patient monitoring screens
🔌 Complete wiring and installation

“Rotary is transforming lives — one island, one breath, one project at a time,” said DG Christine as she unveiled the facility.
